SWINE FLU

If you think you have Swine Flu please ring the national pandemic flu line 0800 1513100 or visit the website www.pandemicflu.direct.gov.uk

This national service exists to assess patients aged over 12 months with swine flu and where appropriate supply tamiflu to them.

If you ring surgery asking to see a GP on the day the receptionist will ask if you consider you may have Swine Flu. If you do not think you have swine flu the GP on call or the triage nurse will ring you back to assess your problem and/or offer an appointment.

If you are calling about a child aged under one with possible swine flu the GP on call will ring you back and if needed will arrange an appointment in our dedicated Swine Flu Clinic (separate access from main building).

Please be aware that we are under extreme pressure at present – if you have a routine problem there may be a long wait for appointments. Your pre-booked appointment may have to be altered so that you see a different GP to the one you booked in with initially.
